Can you wear Shorts in the Gurdwara Sahib

Shorts should not be worn in Gurudwara

It is considered very disrespectful to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

You wouldn’t go to office wearing shorts or go to a senior official wearing shorts or go to court wearing shorts. The answer is probably no, then how can you go to Guru Ji wearing shorts?
Please don’t go in shorts unless you don’t have any other decent option.

If you can’t afford any other piece of clothing except the shorts you have, you may go in shorts. It is individual Gurdwara Sahib’s discretion whether to allow entry into the Gurdwara Sahib.

Some Gurdwara’s may turn a blind eye to this unwritten rule (please correct me if this is incorrect)  if there is a sporting  event being hosted by the Gurdwara Sahib or the shorts are part of a school uniform.
